"Ian, you're going to help a lot of people! You've created a very useful
tool that will get every video newbie up and operating immediately. Your book tells
people 'how to' in plain language and with very large illustrative pictures
(a bonus for us visual folk!) And the video tutorials that accompany your
book give very detailed 'watch and learn' clips that are priceless. Thanks
for allowing me to share with my members!"

| This first movie is my first ever editing
work. We took Marty's camera to the beach along with sandboards
and beer. This is the result.

Northbridge is the main entertainment area
in Perth. This video is inspired by the credits for "The
Sopranos". Filmed by myself, Marty and Laura. Edited by
Marty.

| Marty's earlier movies were what got me
interested in both movie-making and skydiving. Here's why.

Tandem skydiving videos by Marty.

| My first skydive was filmed by cameraman
Andy at York, near Perth, and additional footage was taken by
Marty. Further jumps filmed by various camera people.
Editing by myself.

My wife Laura made this movie, which shows
Perth in a better light than the seedier Northbridge movie.

File: PerthHoliday.wmv
7.0Mb 4min 12sec
|
| This is another of Laura's movies, using
speeded up footage. Compression spoils this a little, but it is
still very effective.

This is one of my favourites, from my
snowboarding trip in 2004. The resort is Mount Hotham in the
Victorian Alps, north of Melbourne.

| We went go-kart racing on a rainy evening,
so the footage is a bit dark. I was very pleased with the editing
in this movie.

This is another one of Laura's movies, and
is a montage of scenes of friends and activities.

The final movie here is a short edit of Marty's dog
Baxter on a trip to the beach. This was made to go with "The Complete Guide To Better Movie
Making", to show movie editing in action. It comes complete with raw
footage that the movie was created from, and a set of step-by-step video
tutorials. See more details at www.BetterMovieMaking.com
